Midterm 2 date and time
Midterm 2 will be held on Nov. 5 from 6-7 pm.
What will the midterm look like?
Content
- Midterm 2 will cover all material from the start of term with an emphasis on material from after Midterm 1. This means Chapters 1-9 and Sections 12.1-12.4 of LK notes with an emphasis on Chapters 6 and later and the corresponding chapters of PD notes. See the Course calendar for detailed readings.
- The best way to study is to do lots of problems. WeBWorK assignment and review problems and OSH problems are a good place to start. There are also practice problem at the back of each chapter of LK notes.
- The level of difficulty of Midterm 2 will be roughly similar to that of Midterm 1. Students who have kept up with webwork, OSH, lectures, and conceptual aspects of the material should find this midterm straightforward.
Format
The midterm will consist of a number of multiple choice questions, some "short answer" problems and two "long answer" problems.
Midterm from last year
You might want to look over and work on Midterm 2 from last year for practice (with the answers). Keep in mind that the order of topics covered is slightly different this year (trig. appeared earlier and some differential equations material appeared later).
