Midterm 2 date and time
Midterm 2 will be held on Nov. 5 from 6-7 pm.
What will the midterm look like?
Content
- The material covered by Midterm 2 includes material from Chapters 6-9 and Sections 12.1-12.4 of LK notes and the corresponding chapters of PD notes. See the Course calendar for detailed readings (from Oct. 4 up to Oct. 30).
- Midterm 2 will focus on the material covered after Midterm 1 but material from before Midterm 1 is still relevant. For example, you should be able to do tangent lines problems (a Midterm 1 topic) although now you can expect the functions involved to be exponential and logarithmic functions instead of polynomial and rational functions.
- The best way to study is to do lots of problems. WeBWorK assignment and review problems and OSH problems are a good place to start. There are also practice problem at the back of each chapter of LK notes.
Format
The midterm will consist of a number of multiple choice questions, some short answer problems (show work, enter answer in a box) and two "long answer" questions.
Midterm from last year
You might want to look over and work on Midterm 2 from last year for practice (with the answers). Keep in mind that the order of topics covered is slightly different this year (trig. appeared earlier and some differential equations material appeared later).
